Artists create objects for observation from a personal perspective, constructing work that viewers can connect with and draw their own connotations from.
Usually works of art are seen as inanimate objects to a viewer, but what if, in fact the artwork is actually watching their observers ?
As a spectator spends time with a piece of art it begins to take on a life of its own. It is then that the viewer and the object initiate an internal dialogue, subjective to the individual, as each set of criticizing eyes has their own associations drawn from past experiences.
Countless hours are spent crafting pieces and honing techniques to make and artist’s imagination a reality. The labor is testing, with long hours, sleepless nights, and a sense of pride when all is said and done. The evolution of an artwork is like the process of nurturing a life form. There is a conception, birth and manifestation process. Once the offspring has been primed and prepared, they are pushed out into the world with the hope that they will carry on, sharing and connecting their ideas with others throughout their life.
